Monsters, Inc Plot
In a world inhabited by monsters, Monster City uses the screams of human children to gain power. In Monsters, Inc. houses, intelligent monsters serve as “terror agents,” entering the human world to terrorize children and harvest their screams by opening bedroom doors. of children. It’s dangerous because human children are poisonous and have the ability to kill monsters with physical contact. As the children became less fearful and the production of electricity decreased, the CEO of the company Henry J. Waternoose III decided to prevent the company from going bankrupt. After returning home from work one evening, James P. “Sully” Sullivan saw a trap door left at Randall Boggs’ station. He checked the door and let a human girl into the factory. Panicked, Sully tries to get the girl back, but to no avail, the girl flees to Monster City, interrupting a date at a sushi restaurant with Sully’s best friend and assistant, Mike Wazowski. When the other monsters see the girl, chaos ensues; Sully and Mac escape with him before the Child Inspection Agency (CDA) arrives to quarantine the restaurant. Having managed to hide the girl in his house that night, Sully realized that the girl was not poison and his laughter grew louder than his screams. At work the next day, Sully and Mike disguise the girl as a monster. Mike wants to go back to the old doors inside, but Sully wants to go back to his original door. While Mike is looking for his house, Sully falls in love with him and names him “Boo”. While waiting for the girl in an ambush, Randall captures Mac and reveals his plan to kidnap children and collect their screams using his new invention, the Scream Extractor. Sully saves Mike and they start talking to Waternoose about Randall’s plan. Sully finds Waternoose in the horror briefing room, and his insistence that he exposes the new recruits to terrifying tactics, results in a terrified Boo. Waternoose reveals that he worked with Randall to kidnap Boo and exile Mike and Sully to the Himalayas. Sully returns to the monster world, but Mike doesn’t go with him. Sully enters the factory alone and saves Boo from the Extraction Scream, but Randall tries to kill him. Mike returns to reconcile with Sully, Randall is unmasked, and he and Boo are chased into the museum. Randall takes over and falls after Boo attacks. The trio throws Randall through the door into the Everglades, which is then destroyed, trapping Randall in the human world forever. When Mike and Sully find Boo’s door, Waternoose, along with CDA, is taken to the Terror Park to capture Mike and Sully. Mike distracts the CDA while Sully and Boo escape, and Waternoose is taken to a terrifying isolation room. Waternoose reveals his plan to kidnap more children to keep the company alive. Mack recorded the information, showed it to the CDA, and Waternoose was arrested. The director of the undercover CDA, Rhodes, allows Sully to take the clothes home, but the door must be removed. Sully says goodbye to Boo before slamming the door. Sully then modified the company’s electronic manufacturing process to produce children’s laughter instead of their screams, as laughter is ten times louder than children’s laughter. With the energy crisis solved, factories now focus on harvesting electricity by making children laugh; Mike becomes the company’s greatest comedian, and Sully is appointed as the new CEO. Moments later, Sully is surprised when Mike rebuilds a door out of a wardrobe. Sully walks in and sits down with Boo.
