Mulan Plot Summary
During the Northern Wei Dynasty, Hua Mulan was an active, mischievous girl who loved adventure. At the age of marriage, Moc Lan, her mother and younger sister went to meet the matchmaker and had to prove their abilities as a future wife. While demonstrating her tea-pouring skills, because a spider scared her younger sister Hoa Tu, Moc Lan accidentally broke the tea set, making the matchmaker angry, calling her a disgrace to the Hoa family.
In the north, aided by the sorceress Tien Luong, a group of Rou Nhien warriors led by Bo Loi Han successfully captured an imperial outpost. Then Tien Luong used magic to impersonate a surviving soldier and reported to the Chinese Emperor about the invasion of Rouran’s army. The Emperor immediately issued a general mobilization decree, requiring every family throughout the empire to provide a man to join the army to fight Bo Li Khan’s army.
The army went to the village where Mulan was living to recruit troops. Without his son, Mr. Chau personally received the military recruitment papers and then immediately collapsed to the ground because his left leg was injured – a legacy of the previous war. Realizing that her father had little chance of surviving if he had to go to war, Mulan decided to join the army in his place, took her sword, armor and horse and left home. The training camp that Moc Lan joined was run by General Dong Dung – Mr. Chau’s former teammate – run. Along with dozens of other inexperienced recruits, thanks to Dong Dung’s advice, Moc Lan gradually became a skilled soldier without revealing her true identity.
Because Bo Loi Khan’s army continuously attacked, Dong Dung was forced to end the training course early to send the battalion to the front line. Mulan herself chased a wing of Bo Li Khan’s army and then faced Tien Luong. After making fun of Moc Lan’s disguise as a man, Tien Luong launched the finishing blow, but fortunately, the dart stuck into the piece of leather that Mulan usually tied around her chest. Duan Mulan took off her disguise and returned to the battlefield. Realizing that the Nhu Nhien army began to attack her comrades with a catapult, Mulan used several helmets and skillful archery skills to direct the catapult to fire towards the snowy mountain, creating There was an avalanche that buried the entire Nhu Nhien army.
Amidst the blinding avalanche scene, Moc Lan saved Tran Hong Huy – a soldier with whom she had become close friends in the past. Returning to the barracks, everyone realized that Moc Lan was a woman, so Dong Dung announced that Mo Lan would be expelled from the army. On the way home, Mulan reunited with Tien Luong. Tien Luong revealed to Mulan that he was also shunned by the world and chose to fight for Bo Li Khan because he was the only person who treated her equally. Tien Luong also said that Bo Loi Khan’s attack on the outposts was only to distract, his real purpose was to capture and finish off the Emperor, to avenge his father. Despite the risk of being executed, Mulan still decided to return to Dong Dung’s battalion to warn Bo Loi Khan’s plot. Moc Lan’s group of comrades defended and persuaded Dong Dung to believe her words. Dong Dung spared Mulan’s life, allowing her to lead a group of troops into the Imperial City to protect her.
Tien Luong used magic, disguised as a prime minister, to persuade the Emperor to agree to fight hand-to-hand with Bo Loi Khan, and at the same time withdraw all the Forbidden troops from the guard posts. Bo Li Han and a group of warriors defeated all of the Emperor’s guards, tied him up, and prepared to burn him alive. Mulan’s comrades are risking their lives to hold off the Nhu Nhien army so that she can quickly go save the price. As soon as they met, Bo Li Han immediately shot an arrow towards Mulan. Tien Luong sacrificed himself to block the arrow, saving Mulan’s life. Mulan killed Bo Li Khan, but lost her father’s sword. The emperor repays Mulan with an invitation to join the guard, but she refuses and asks to return to her hometown.
While Mulan was reuniting with her family, a messenger sent by the Emperor accompanied General Dong Dung, gave the heroine a new sword and invited her to join the Cam Army and become a general.
