The Grinch
The Grinch hatches a scheme to ruin Christmas when the residents of Whoville plan their annual holiday celebration.
Synopsis:
In the town of Whoville, the Whos are eagerly awaiting Christmas. The Grinch (voice of Benedict Cumberbatch) lives alone with his loyal dog Max. Due to excessive emotional eating, he runs out of food, forcing him to take a trip into town to shop. As the narrator points out, it’s not entirely clear why the Grinchen is the way he is. It could be that his head was screwed on or that his shoes were too tight, but perhaps the main reason of all was that his heart was two sizes too small.The Grinch accidentally sets the tree on fire and falls into the middle of the crowd. This brings back a painful memory of how he was always alone as a child. He retreats to Mount Crumpit and hatches a plan with Max to steal Christmas from the Whos. Cindy Lou finds her boyfriend Groopert (Tristan O’Hare) and tells him that she wants Santa to send help to her mother because Cindy Lou sees how tired Donna is from all the hours she’s been working and herself takes care of Cindy Lou and her siblings. . .The Grinch
steals trees, gifts, decorations, lights and food from all the Who.The last house he visits is none other than Cindy Lou’s house. He sees a cookie and decides to take it, triggering the trap she set. Cindy Lou then asks him to fulfill her wish of helping her mother, which touches him because he sees that Cindy Lou is not as selfish as he perceives her to be. He is saved by Fred and his family, who receive help from Max to lift him up. The Grinch takes Max into town, where they are joined by Cindy Lou’s family and other town guests, including Bricklebaum.Everyone gathers for dinner and Donna offers the Grinch the chance to carve the rare roasted Beast Who. Grinch gives a little speech in which he confesses that he never hated Christmas, but rather the feeling of being alone during the holidays. And so we toast to kindness and love, the things we need most, and therefore to the Grinning.
